I was on Alendronate sodium for about 8 months sta...

  • I was on Alendronate sodium for about 8 months starting November 2013 and started to have numbness in my feet and hands...I stopped taking it after my dentist told me she could not do an implant because the drug would make my jaw bone to brittle..Since stopping the numbness and muscle pain has gone up my arms and legs and am now feeling mild numbness in my torso, face, mouth and jaw. I have been diagnosed with an autoimmune disorder with no known cause... Does anyone from this support group have a similiar story...

  • Hello Ron,

    Hello Ron,

My name is Sha Adams and with your permission may I suggest an alternative medicine to your health concerns. I believe that body is designed by our Heavenly Father to heal itself. All it needs is a boost from natural ingredients. As a naturopathic specialist, I suggest vegetables, fruits, grains, and various spices.

    Condition: Alendronate - Peripheral Neuropathy

Alternative remedy: kale, mustard, collard, turnip greens, broccoli, Brussel sprouts, celery, cabbage, one teaspoon of garlic(grind) one teaspoon of onions(grind) one teaspoon of cayenne spice. Blend all ingredients with either Carrots, or Tomatoes Juice. Drink it throughout the day. What I prescribed is a remedy whose objective is to sedate/calm/relax your neurons(nerve cells) and to stimulate your endorphins(natural pain killers in the body)

Nutrients involve - Boron, Vitamin D, Vitamin K, Vitamin B12, Copper, Iron, Vitamin C

Give us a chance Ron, we are here for you.

Yet, it is highly likely that your autoimmune disorder is what is causing your peripheral neuropathy!

  • I took Alendronate for years.

I took Alendronate for years. Didn't notice any problem while I was taking it. I was told I didn't need to take it anymore as my bone scan numbers had improved. One month after stopping the Alendronate I woke up in the AM with intense body pain (bone, muscle and joint) that was so severe I could not turn over to get out of bed. It included my shoulders, arms, hands, legs and feet. This continued for just shy of 3 LONG years. I did not notice any numbness whatsoever, just all over body pain. It completely ruined my life for three years. I continue to have some pain in my shoulders, but the rest of the pain has subsided. Three of the longest years of my life!
