I have been taking 12.5 mg Ambien CR for 6 years 2 or 3 times per week and then for about 10 or 11 months every night. About 6 months ago I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy in both feet and it has become worse since. In the past 2 months or so I have tried to get off Ambien by cutting the 12.5 mg tablets. It is very difficult to do. I recently had another emg test done and the peripheral neuropathy is quite evident. I've started in the last week or two to take a 5000 ug megadose of vitamin B12, 80% methyl B12 and 20% adenosyl B12. You want to avoid the cheaper cyano B12. There seems so far to be a small improvement in the neuropathy in both feet but it's only small. I'm not diabetic. I am therefore decreasing Ambien and taking B12. Getting down below a one quarter Ambien tablet is very difficult. One eighth tablet is causing pain in my head and pain in my groin area as well perhaps and making me agitated as well. I suppose neuropathy can cause pain in places other then the feet as well. Has anyone in the group had neuropathy pain associated with Ambien in places other then the feet? Thank you for any information.

I was wondering how many people experience ear pain due to taking Ambien. I have insomnia and have been taking it for 7 years. I also experience electric shocks in my head and neck. I heard this could be due to Ambien as well. Thankyou so much!!!! Suzie

I have recurrent ovarian cancer. I started a clinical trial two weeks ago and have had trouble sleeping. I take 10mg of Ambien. I fall asleep quickly but wake up saturated between 2-4 and then pretty much just dose until it is time to get up. My sheets are so wet, I have to move to a different part of the bed. My bedroom is very cool and never had this problem before Ambien. Seeing my oncologist this week and will talk to her about it but just wanted to get some input from others with the same problem. Thanks in advance!
