Insomnia issue: Within a week of taking black cohosh, I developed such extreme insomnia that I couldn't sleep at all. It took three nights off black cohosh before I could begin sleeping normally again.
Joint pain: I saw some relief with ginger tea (made from boiling ginger root), so I recently began taking turmeric. I'm not sure about its effectiveness yet. Before the turmeric, I started a day-long process of drinking anti-flammatory teas: cinnamon in my morning coffee, spearmint and lemon grass tea at noon, green tea at mid-afternoon, ginger tea in the mid-evening, and chamomile tea before bed. This worked perfectly. I had no inflammation issues but it was a lot of teas, so that's why I decided to try the turmeric. I would like to cut-back on the amount of teas I am drinking.

My name is Cheryl.
I've been on Exemestane since 2012. Has anyone had any severe side effects from this drug?
Since I've been on Exemestane, my hot flashes are frequent and so annoying. I just began taking black cohosh. I am hoping it will at least lessen my hot flashes.
Can anyone comment on their positive or negative reactions?

I have been taking black cohosh for as long as eight years and have developed a chronic skin condition no medication has been able to cure. I have sores on my arms, back and legs that are very deep. When the scab comes off, it reveals a deep pit surrounded by redish skin on the perimeter of the scab. The scabs take a very long time to heal and leave scars. I don't know if the BC is the cause, but I stopped taking it a week ago and so far haven't developed any new sores. The sores do not itch and they do not hurt unless I pick at them, which I do sometimes (unfortunately!) I would appreciate hearing from other people who may have had similar issues.

Hi, I'm Rene. I take 400 mg of Gabapentin (Neurontin) at bedtime to control nocturnal seizures. I read about taking Black Cohosh to help increase sex drive. The Gabapentin has totally taken my desire away. I'm reading all I can on the subject but my head is starting to spin. lol
Thank you for any help. Rene

I just added the Black Cohosh to the above regimen 2 weeks ago. I'm afraid I will gain wieght. I'm ALWAYS struggling with my weight, I lost the 30 lbs. In 2014, that I had gained in 2013 from using Nueronton & Serequil (which never aided in minimising my depression, it increased both my depression & anxiety x 10 = A nightmare which lasted an ENTIRE year).
I have and gained 8 lbs. in just this past month alone, and began the Black Cohosh 2 weeks ago, I'm afraid it might be contributing to it. Does Black Cohosh increase ones Appetite or slow down one's Metabolism or BOTH?
