Hi I'm new on Chantix. Week 2 was a pack a day smoker for over 30 years now I that is cut down to half a pack or less. I noticed on week 2 with taking 2 mg a day I have severe abdominal pains. Is this my body withdrawing from nicotine because I smoke less and I don't crave cigarettes like I used to. I used to chain smoke but now I rarely think about a cigarette until I have abdominal pains and cramping. I do take the Chantix on a full stomach. How long will this pain last? Thanks!

I have been taking Chantix for almost 12 weeks (Been smoke free for 11) and 4 days ago started developing mild abdominal pain that has progressed to moderate/severe abdominal pain. I am in the medical field, and am pretty certain, I have developed an upper intestinal ulcer that is bleeding. I have no other risk factors for ulcers, and have been very healthy up to this point in my life. I have an apt with my Dr later today.
