I am a 62 year old with Factor V Leiden hetereozyg...

  • I am a 62 year old with Factor V Leiden hetereozyguous, Mthfr homozyguous and osteoporosis. I had a PE with a pregnancy 40 years ago losing my baby at 32 weeks. I had two successful pregnancys after that and no other problems with clotting. Never worried much about the Factor V, but have always been aware and careful when traveling, wearing stockings, etc. I began seeing a naturopath when I was diagnosed with osteoporosis and he tested me for the mthfr. He is so focused on my Factor V, he has me worried everytime I have a pain!

  • I, too, an heterozygous. I

I, too, an heterozygous. I haven't developed any clots. My sister who
Also has the gene did have an ectopic pregnancy and had a stroke during surgery. I have been reading a lot lately about other people who have the gene and also have other symptoms. My sister is on Plavix and doesn't seem to have all the pain and fatigue that I have. My doctor started me on a low dose of plavix several weeks ago, and it seems to have helped some.
