  • I was diagnosed with leiden factor 5 when i was younger after my dad had a blood clot and was made aware it could be passed onto his children.
I visted to the doctors today to ask about anything i could take to reduce the amount of heavy bleeding i am currently having due to a period - have an implant in situ
she prescribed me with tranexamic acid.... after reading the advice that comes with the medication and looking it up on google it says i should not take it, even though i TOLD the doctor i am very anxious about taking certain things due to my blood clotting disorder any medication that has the word blood and clot in the same sentance is a big NO NO for me, so after getting myself up and wound up that she even prescribed them to me and i am waiting a call back from the doctor to confrim if i should or shouldnt take them, i want to know if anyone has taken this medication before when being diagnosed with leiden factor 5 and if anyone knows if it is safe to TAKE/NOT take.
