Been on fenofibrate for many years Have been under...

  • Been on fenofibrate for many years Have been under treatment for bladder cancer for 3 years. Two re sections, two courses of BCG (one with interferon). Why didn't my urologist alert me to this?

  • My last resection was Friday

My last resection was Friday (Dec 23) at USC Keck. In the post op instructions they told me t stop taking fenofibrate but didn't tell me why. This should be alerted to all urologists

  • the urologists apparently don

the urologists apparently don't have time to read the latest literature on the subject; they fill their day with treating their patients with the standard ailments in urology. I do my own research and send them pdf articles that are focused on my bladder cancer. Not sure they have time at the end of the day to read any of them. My latest treatment was of my own suggestion, like yours with BCG/INF and it apparently took care of the CIS but not one small papillary tumor which was removed with resection. (I've had about 8 resections so far, about twice a year) So far, that's keeping the cancer from becoming MIBC. Your urologist might not think of all these options since most have a "one size fits all" attitude. Yet, a shoe store protocol where one size does NOT fit all, should be the standard treatment.
