i experience hair loss like alot of people do while taking lyrica. I have been on seizure meds since I was 17 and I just turned 60. I have never experienced hair loss in my life no matter what drug I was on and I have been on many and now I have hair loss. I started Lyrica last Sept (11 mo's ago) and I have now lost at least 25% - 30% of my hair. It is extremely thin and is now noticable. I never had thin hair and didn't have thin hair when I started taking Lyrica but I do now. It is awful and progressive. Every morning handfuls of hair are falling out. At the rate of loss, I will be wearing a wig in a year - and I've never experienced this problem before. I don't take any narcotics for pain but I do take high blood pressure meds. They never gave me a problem so it must be the Lyrica by itself or something that exists in both drugs that conflict with each other. I was on high BP med (AmLodipin) for one year before Lyrica and never had a problem. So I'm thinking it has got to be the Lyrica. I'ld like to get off Lyrica and see what happens. I have Trigeminal neuralgia and have battled it since I was 17 so it won't be easy. I have to have some sort of seizure med because of the severe nerve spasms in my face.

I've been having hair loss over the last year and thought it might be stress related, but it has gone on too long after stress has been relieved. I've been looking for some other cause and came across this group.

Hello. I am 62 and took alendronate for 5 weeks. at week 3 I started to see hair loss and by 5 had researched and decided to quit. I am now about 5 weeks since I stopped the drug and have lost about half of my hair and had it cut shorter twice during the period of loss. I bought some cancer caps since at this rate I may need them. I am trying to tough it out and see many reports it will grow back but I am wondering: when will it stop falling out? It has become a morning ritual to brush as much off clothes, floor, robe, before I go to work because the "shedding" is so ...creepy? I have shared the what and why so people won't think I'm in chemo but I am starting to get a feeling of dread each time I look in the mirror. I've never been a "girly girl"; don't fuss or wear cosmetics but going bald is taking me to a very uncomfortable place. Any insights appreciated. Thanks. Vicky

Hello, my name is Carolyn. I am begging for answer and suggestion with carvedilol med. I am going bald at a rapid rate and I don't have a history of female baldness in my family.
