Gastrointestinal specialist is trying to tell me marijuana is the cause of my gastroparesis when I didn't take marijuana in 2004 till now I started in 2009 due to the Jefferson Center mental health prescribed prescription drugs that were side effect to cause my nausea and stress to increase their drugs pharmaceutical caused my condition to worsen and there still getting paid for pushing these drugs on others due to there mental duress judgement is compromised by trusting therapy doctors that don't want you to get better nor survive from finding weed to be a better answer than there bad pharmaceutical drugs they push on me.

My name is Sha Adams and I am a naturopathic specialist, going on three years. I believe that the body is designed by our Heavenly Father, to heal itself. All it needs is a boost from natural medicine.
Shaunte, I agree with the other commenters, what your doctor failed to tell you, is that smoking period can cause damage to the stomach lining. Not necessarily marijuana. We are here for you.

Hi Shaunte, I am sorry you
Hi Shaunte, I am sorry you are suffering.
I am one of the few surviving Crohn's patients of my generation. I was diagnosed at the tender age of 12, but only after doctors had confined me in a mental instituted for 6 weeks. One doctor persisted and eventually found Crohn's disease and at the time the only thing for them to do was remove my entire bowel. I was given 20-25 years, best case scenario.
Thank god I was a combative little prick back then. I refused the surgery and endured the pain and experimental drugs until 1993. I had to have 2 sections of my stomach and bowel removed but retained most of it.
Rather than let me become addiction to narcotic pain killers, my doctor recommended I smoked some weed to deal with the pain, nausea, and cramps, so for 40 years I was a criminal. Now I have a permit, I get my medicine (that's what cannabis is) from MedReleaf (Canada).
For the past 2 months I have been making my own non-psychoactive Cannabis Oil, also known as Rick Simpson Oil using Cannabis high in CBD. (Cannabidiol) My pain and inflammation is better than it has been in memory. My Crohn's is now the least of my issues.
I have spent years researching Cannabis waiting for this day. In my travels I have not come across anything that would indicate it being the cause of your issues, but then I'm not a doctor and would want to be one. Not for all the tea in China.
The fact is Pharmaceutical companies (and doctors) really don't want you to heal... there is no profit in it and unfortunately that's the way the world as we know it works.
I just fired my MD after battling him for 2 years over my developing Candida after 40 years of Prednisone use. It didn't matter how many other doctors understood the relationship, or how much proof I came up with, he would not get with the program. His attitude eventually started damaging me.
Thank god we live in the internet age and can think for our selves.
One of the things I recommend to anyone having Irritable Bowel symptoms is try removing as much Gluten from your diet as possible. I went Gluten-free 4.5 years ago and it was the best thing I ever did for my Crohn's. (other than Cannabis) With many companies accepting the need for it (e.g. Robinhood, Catelli, Bob's Red Mill) there are now many palatable options available.
I had been Gluten-free for 3 or 4 months then was forced to take full Gluten for 2 weeks prior to the biopsy which was inconclusive. The pain and suffering returned immediately convincing me my path was true.
Remember the Bible... wasn't Gluttony one of the deadly sins. Gluten Intolerance clogged up my intestines and made me fat even though I was literally starving.
One of the benefits of going Gluten-free was I have lost 60 lbs. and 8 inches from around my waste. It came off gracefully over a year or so with no unsightly wings under my arms etc. And I seldom hit the gym or get exercise.
Good Luck Shaunte! (love your name)

I have terrible stomach pain
I have terrible stomach pain sometimes from medicaton due to a car accident.
I drink yogurt smoothies with aloe vera juice. Aloe vera coats the stomach, it treats burns outside the body and helps with indigestion.
The yogurt smoothies are : coconut milk, Chibani Greek Yogurt, bananas, (other fruit) pineapple (helps with inflammation) . Goes down smooth. I was a CNA, and it helped my cancer patients too.

i do not believe for one
i do not believe for one minute that marijuana caused your gastroparesis. you should never have told your doctor that you smoked it as you have given him something to blame. doctors don't know everything.this illness is caused by nerve damage to the stomach mostly diabetics get it or its caused by an operation cutting through stomach nerves. always be careful when you go to a doctor and do not tell them that you smoke weed. it won't affect the diagnosis but will give them something to blame it on. i honestly believe that. i went to the doctor with flushing of the face and was told i had the menopause. it was artificial sweetners causing this and I'm 64 a bit old for the menopause. i don't trust doctors not the pharmaceutical companies either.

Hi Shaunte :) I can't even
Hi Shaunte :) I can't even imagine that marijuana caused your gastoparesis-my husband has made a near-miraculous recovery using marijuana for his digestive health issues. I'm so sorry your doctor is ignorant of that natural medicine. I am a victim of BigPharma and the whole nasty circle but until something is done legally here in PA, I'm not risking the loss of a state issued license. God bless you as you continue your treatment!

Hi Shaunte! I'm Sarah, the moderator for the groups. I'm sorry for what you are going through! Depending on what other drugs you have taken in the past, it could be a result of some of them or a combination of them, but there is documentation that marijuana can cause gastric stasis or slowing down: http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/gastroenterology_hepatology/_pdfs/esophag...
