My voice has changed. I sound like I am deaf. This is NOT the first time, more like the 5th. So after three days of leaving messages I get an appointment with my neurologist yesterday. I walk into his office he goes over my meds and checks my reflexes and does a quick pressure point check on my neck. All the while I'm using sign language while talking to him (a visual clue that something isn't right). He is about to send me on my way when I say to him "I'm here because you told me come if my voice acts up so you can hear it." He asked me "this isn't your normal voice?" I say no. His response "oh".
I told him one neurologist said it's viral and another said it's neurological. I'm not sick, there is no change in my meds, and I have not eaten anything that I'm allergic too.
He asked me if I sound strange to family and said yes. He asked me if I can hear and said yes. He asked me if I can write and I said yes.
His solution...send me to a speech therapist! Aaarrrrggggg!!!!!

Has anyone out there gone through this before? Does anyone have any answers?

  • Diverticulitis and migraine

I have had migraines for years. I take amitriptyline at bedtime and that has worked very well, having maybe 1 a month or less. I have also had diverticulitis for years with no symptoms until last fall. I have had 7 migraines in the last month and have had rectal discharge since last fall. It is so embarrassing along with gas I can't control and running to the bathroom multiple times when out shopping because you don't know exactly what's going to happen. This is my 2nd flare up of diverticulitis, meaning, I don't count the on going rectal discharge and occasional diarrhea as flare ups, Abdominal pain, sluggish, basically feeling bad. I have just put together the diverticulitis triggering my migraines. I know I'm not the only one with this problem and thought it would be nice to talk to others that do. It's kind of hard for people to realize what you're going through if they haven't experienced it. Look forward to chatting maybe getting some tips. Patti

Hello, I have just taken the first shot of Depo and I have not been the same. I have constant headache, loss of appetite, waist pain as if in labour and Hyper pigmentation. My face has become so dark that nothing seems to be working. I am now two months on it and for the past 17days I have been on menstruation. Last week I was even admitted for low blood pressure. Most times am nervous and always hear my heartbeat. I can't wait for it to fade out. I hope I return to my normal self.

  • Migraines and they're distructive paths

I have had headaches daily for the past 10 years and within the past 6 years they have gotten worse I have a migraine everyday! They tried Topomax which didn't work it made me lose excessive amounts of weight. The migraines rule my life. I don't have the option of not going to work so I battle through. I was getting prescribed Percocet which helped me get through the day and ease the pain but since my doctor also has me on clonopin for anxiety and depression he won't prescribe both together and frankly he just doesn't want to prescribe Percocet so I have no relief. I am pretty much killing myself by taking handfuls of Tylenol and phenergan to stop the vomiting that comes with the migraines. I am a stepmom to two kids who's mom has pretty much left the picture and I can't even stand to look myself in the mirror and it's hard enough to drag myself out of bed just to go to work. My husband doesn't understand he thinks I should be happy and go lucky with this pain. I've tried but the pain rules my life. I lost insurance so my doctors can't keep running additional testing to figure out what's going on with me. I pray that all of you experiencing this will find relief as I pray that I may find some relief somehow. I have even tried taking Imodium by the handfuls bc it eased the pain but caused other issues. That's my story in short
