    No. To me (is only an opinion) it does not seem "safe" to take a mucolitic, (Mulcim), with a cough suppressor as Dextrometorphan , because you dissolve mucus, but at the same, precludes its elimination by cough....on the other hand a doctor should find out why the patient is "coughing" rather than just ameliorate the symptom while may be an infecction is in progress. By this dangerous course of action, a child may end up in intensive care unit, in a matter of days or hours...most of the time they are just "lucky", but.....The best "mucolitic" (if any) is simply water, water, water...and solve the cause of the cough (asthma, infectiion, bronchitis, foreing body, etc).
