  • I am having a great deal of nerve pain in my back ...

I am having a great deal of nerve pain in my back and down the left side of my leg for the better part of the last year! i have been on Seroquel for around 3 years or so! I am 61! I just had a back operation for a bulged disk/pinched nerve pain! This helped a little bit for the back pain, but resulted in the keen realization or the pain in the hip/leg that I now suffer from! I have also had an injection into the SI joint for this pain, but it did absolutely nothing! Seroquel has always caused leg cramps for me during the night after taking the medication before I sleep! I take the medication for insomnia!
I am wondering if the cramping pain has now become long term nerve damage! i am worried that this pain could become irreversible!

I have always had leg cramps as a side effect of Seroquel! I am having intense pain in my left hip area radiating down to my ankle! I have had a SI injection as well as back surgery in the last 2 months in order to attack this pain! The has had negative results! I am now of the thought that the leg cramps due to the Seroquel has now resulted in nerve damage that may be irreversible! I am indeed concerned!

I’ve been taking Seroquel for about 4 years now for olefactory hallucinations. (Hallucinating smells). I was on 200 mg a day but recently cut it down to 100 mg per day. I also got really sick 4 days ago and started taking NyQuil too. I now know I shouldn’t have mixed the 2. My question is though is it possible that the combination could cause hallucinations of another type? I was laying in my bed and barely had gotten situated when I felt something in my bed! It jumped twice right beside my foot so I threw back the covers and looked around but there was nothing there. So I figured I might have imagined it, but I got comfortable again and it happened again! So needless to say I’ve been sleeping on the couch. My mattress is only a year old and it’s a Serta. I can’t feel any springs or anything that would cause it to feel like something is popping up around my feet. Is this weird or what? I’m a 61 year old female btw. Somebody please say something that sounds logical so I can stop being afraid of my bed! It feels like there’s something in my mattress!

  • Seroquel and type 1 diabetes

When I was 16 I started on quetiapine for my Bipolar, it seemed to be working well until I started getting very thirsty and going to the toilet a lot. I went to the doctor and they said I had diabetes, so I went to hospital. My mom did a lot of research and found the link between diabetes and quetiapine. However it seems you can only get type 2 from this medication ( according my doctors), i am very sensitive to medication and normally get side effects within a week. I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 weeks after starting quetiapine and the symptoms only came after I started the medication. Has anyone else had type 1 diabetes from this medication?
