  • Alternatives to Plaquenil

Hello, I have been taking Plaquenil for quite some time and it seems like when I get a flare up- the Plaquenil doesn't work for me because I get so tired, so easily and quickly. I am wondering if there is an alternative to taking the Plaquenil? Any information is greatly appreciated. Thanks.

  • Plaquenil panic Attacks

    Good morning all -

After 5 years of going from one frustrating doctor to another, I finally found one that actually listened and didn't dismiss me. My new GP ran numerous blood tests, I have a positive ANA and positive for Sjogrens. Referred to a WONDERFUL rheumy (finally I have a good team). I was just dx with Lupus, Sjogrens and Raynaulds. I was given 200mg 1x/day of Plaquenil. I've been only taking the rx for 5 days and I'm expericjng MAJOR panic attacks and anxiety. I contacted my rheumy and he told me he's had 2 patients have to stop the medication due to increased anxiety.

I'm wondering if anyone has experienced this symptom. I'm wondering if I stick with it, will the panic subside or should I discontinue now?

I never thought I'd wake up sick one day and never get better. My heart goes out to ALL!

    Thank you for your time!

I am a 53 year old male who recently has been diagnosed, loosely diagnosed, as potentially having Lupus. I have been taking Crestor for a long time, a thyroid medication, and have been a regular user of Excedrin for 5-8 years. My doctor has taken me off of the Crestor to see how that alters how I feel, but I am wondering if Excedrin is playing any significant role in this. For lack of a better way to say it, I have major joint pain in my upper legs, making it look like I'm old an feeble at times trying to walk (stairs are terrible). It especially nails me in the upper right inner portion of the leg, and is debilitating at times. I have always been in great shape athletically, don't drink or smoke, and am in fear that if this continues, it will lead to a more significant disability. Any thoughts on the Excedrin piece to this?
