  • TMD and medication (jaw clicking)

Both myself and my daughter have TMD. We both were prescribed mouth guards which we wore at night. There was never any question of medication with either of us. I would be very careful of going on meds for something like this!!

  • Jaw clicking

Hi, I'm a dental professional and the last thing u need to treat clicking in the jaw is prolia or any type of calcium bisphosphonate. Clicking in your jaw is a symptom of TMD which is rarely treated with medication. The first treatment would be a night guard. As long as you're not in pain it's really not a big concern. But meds like prolia have severe side effects in the jawbone called osteonecrosis. You should only take it if you have severe osteoporosis.
