Hello everyone my sister had a gastric bypass done a couple of years ago and has been miserable ever since. She has gas so bad that she cannot go anywhere without this problem affecting her. She is literally become isolated in her own home and completely lost her social life because of the odorous gas. She also now has arthritis extremely bad and psoriasis and she is really depressed of course. She does take Tramadol, she also takes other medications, but she is continually getting worse. I am so worried about her. The gas is unbelievable. Has anyone else experienced this. thoughts???

I have had neck stiffness since my second knee surgery.
Lately it has eased some and now I am connecting the use of Tramadol with the use of Tramadol. I had thought that I was using my cell phone too much, but my usage didn't change and the stiffness got better as I had less reasons to take Tramadol. Now I only take it if I have hurt or overdone my physical activity. So after 1/2 of a tramadol I woke up again with neck stiffness. AHA!

I've been taking Tramadol for over 8 yes and my teeth have progressively gotten bad in the last 3yrs. They started breaking then eventually decay sets in. I'm a firm believer that Tramadol is the cause because I've never been a hard drug user and ALWAYS practice good dental hygiene. Tramadol is now considered a narcotic and has always been a form of opiate. I'm in the process of getting a case opened in the VA.

  • I have been taking tramadol for almost 6 yrs follo...

I have been taking tramadol for almost 6 yrs following a spinal fracture. I also appear to have abdominal adhesions following surgery 11 yrs ago to remove part of my large and small bowel due to advanced precancerous growths.
Over 2 yrs ago I was admitted to hospital with a partial bowel obstruction which was successfully treated, however since then my bowel has ceased to function as normal. I no longer have voluntary bowel motions and have to constantly take laxitives. I have been to my Dr several times and have also seen two Consultants. Never once did they mention the effects of tramadol or the posibility of paralytic ileus (I stumbled across this condition on line)
My Dr and Consultant only ever disused the probability of abdominal adhesions as the cause for my chronic constipation and as they refused to operate saying that surgery would only result in the further development of adhesions, I was just left to get on with it.
I understand that further surgery would no doubt lead to further adhesions but why have none of the medics ever addressed the fact that it could quite possibly be Tramadol that is causing my chronic constipation and not adhesions.
I am desperate for any help or advise. I am constantly chronically bloated with trapped wind and abdominal discomfort. I have gained weight which seems impossible to shift. Could this too be contributed to Paralytic Ileus?
Thanks in advance for reading this and would greatly appreciate any advise.
