I started taking 20 mg of Xarelto about 3 months ago. I am diabetic and have had my BS under control using Glucovance. average 105. Within 2 or 3 days I begin to get higher BS reading; then after about a month the readings kept going higher (245) My diet had not changed nor my medication. I started fasting for 16 hours at a time. Now my reading are still high (160) range but seem to have stabilized in this area, even after fasting. I think these high readings are the effect of taking the Xarelto. I have read in other articles that I should adjust my reading downward by 30 to 40% for as long as I take this medication.

Check with ehealthme.com drug directory regarding this medication, and it's side effects.
What I prescribed is a remedy whose objective is to control/monitor high blood sugar level, and to assist in preventing blood clots; that can take place in the veins.

PS.... it's best for
PS.... it's best for everybody with diabetes to eat a low carb diet, and adjust insulin or type 2 medications to the low carb consumption. Excess weight? Many Type 2 diabetics can go off medication if they greatly reduce to a lean body mass.... Check out the topic on youtube and listen to the physician lectures!

I have insulin dependant
I have insulin dependant diabetes and have taken Xarelto for nearly a year and a half since an MRI finding of a PE. I haven't had any change in glucose readings that I can contribute to the Xarelto.... just as always, what I eat (Number of Carbs) and my dosage of insulin definitely do..... matter of fact, right now it's time to use my Lantus!

I read here that many people
I read here that many people start taking Xarelto and then experience other symptoms of other conditions. I have been on Xarelto since Feb of 2016, and have no side effects at all since start of taking Xarelto. I am not diabetic, nor hyper or hypoglycemic, have not had any neuropathy or dizziness or any side effects while on Xarelto. I am sorry to hear that so many people do experience side effects. I do have a fairly serious controlled heart condition, and AFib, so I am grateful for Xarelto so far. Sylvialily
